Who? What? How?

In the last 2 years, the "Heavy Mellow Quartet" from Berlin established itself as a sought after backing band for international acts, especially in the jazz, funk and soul scene.

The individual well recognized members of the group have performed with artists like The Temptations, Wyclef Jean, Candy Dulfer, Nina Hagen, Christopher Cross, Herbie Hancock, Lee Konitz and Ernie Watts.

Rick Braun (Rickie Lee Jones, Tina Turner, Glenn Frey, Natalie Cole, Crowded House, Tom Petty and War) will be backed by the "Heavy Mellow Quartet" at the Sopot Jazz Festival on October 9th 2010. We are very looking forward to this great show!

SJF in Augsburg 2010

The "Heavy Mellow Quartet" will be the backing band for this years 3rd annual Smoothjazzfestival in Augsburg on the 23rd and 24th of September at the city's wonderful Parktheater. The featured artists this year will be David Benoit, Rick Braun, Chuck Loeb and Shilts.

Marcus Johnson + HMQ

The Heavy Mellow Quartet (-1) will be backing Marcus Johnson for his Show at Jazzclub Minden on the 23rd of January.

Marcus got nominated for an NAACP Award as best Jazz Album along with Christian McBride and Wynton Marsalis in the same category.
